Members of the activist group MAJICA, which stands for Mexican Americans Joined in Community Affairs, are accusing Victoria County's District Attorney, Dexter Eaves of giving unfair treatment to the less privileged. It's an accusation that Eaves flatly denies.
Complaints about Eaves surfaced after a young Hispanic named Steven Baca was prosecuted for possession of marijuana. His family says he was treated more harshly than two boys arrested one week later on similar charges.
Baca's family says the other two boys had representatives that spoke with the D.A. and the charges were dropped. Steven Baca also had representation, but his attorney did not secure the same deal.
Although Eaves says he won't discuss the specifics of any case, he says all of his decisions are made with careful consideration
